A concrete testing lab, fitted out in a weekend

This client tests concrete for a living, all kinds of it, out of an office built inside a much larger warehouse in Houston. The office rooms do a bit of everything: lab bench, test room, break room, meeting room. Two of them needed proper work surfaces and storage to keep up.

We built out and fit base cabinets along the walls of both rooms. The back room got a U-shaped run with a double sink, a pull-down faucet and an open knee space at the sink. The second room got an L-shaped run under the window. Everything is topped with stone look laminate and a matching backsplash. Laminate is the right surface for a working lab: it takes abuse, wipes clean, and costs far less than stone. We re-plumbed the sink in the back room while we were there, licensed pros where the code calls for it.

All of it, cabinets in and counters on, happened over a single weekend. That is how we like to handle work inside an operating business: the disruption happens while the building is quiet, and the rooms are ready when people come back.
