Doors that swing true and close quiet.
Interior doors, entry doors and big glass sliders - hung plumb in openings that rarely are, with even reveals, smooth latches and weather sealing that actually seals.
A door is a moving part in a house that moves too - especially on Houston clay. Doors that stick, swing open on their own or show daylight at the corners were hung to the opening, not to plumb. We hang to plumb.
What is included
- Interior door replacement - slabs or full pre-hung units
- Entry and patio doors, flashed and sealed against our sideways rain
- Sliding and glass doors, including large openings
- Hardware, locks and deadbolts installed clean
- Even reveals, adjusted strikes, smooth latching
- Casing and trim finished to match the house
How it works
- Assess the opening. We check plumb, level and structure - the door is only as good as its opening.
- Written scope. Doors, hardware and finish itemized, with honest guidance on quality tiers.
- Hang and adjust. Shimmed plumb, fastened solid, adjusted until the swing and latch are right.
- Seal and finish. Weatherstripping, thresholds, casing and paint - the complete job.
What drives the price
- Door type and quality tier - slab vs pre-hung, hollow vs solid core
- Opening condition: out-of-square framing takes fitting time
- Exterior doors add flashing, sealing and threshold work
- Hardware and finish level
Common questions
Solid core or hollow core?
Solid core doors feel better, sound better and take abuse better - we recommend them for bedrooms and baths when budget allows. Hollow core still makes sense for closets. You can mix; nobody knocks on a closet door.
My doors stick every summer. Why?
Humidity swells wood doors, and seasonal soil movement shifts frames slightly. Proper hanging leaves room to move; we also ease and seal edges so seasonal swelling stops winning.
Can you open a wall for a bigger door or slider?
Yes - enlarging openings is structural work we do, header and all, with permits where required. Our Cypress project put an 18-foot glass wall where a bedroom wall used to be.
