LVP that looks high-end and lives easy.
Waterproof, kid-proof, dog-proof and convincing enough that guests ask if it is wood. LVP has earned its popularity - when it is installed over a properly prepped subfloor.
LVP is the most requested floor in Greater Houston for good reason: it shrugs off humidity, spills and traffic. The catch is that it is a floating floor, so it shows every flaw in the slab beneath it. Prep is the job.
What is included
- Honest product guidance - wear layer, core type and what the labels actually mean
- Tear-out and disposal of existing flooring
- Slab flattening and moisture-aware prep
- Correct expansion gaps so planks never buckle
- Staggered, planned layout - no stair-step patterns or slivers at walls
- Clean transitions and finished baseboards or quarter-round
How it works
- Pick the right product. We help you compare wear layers and cores in plain English, at more than one price point.
- Written scope. Prep, materials and trim itemized so nothing is a surprise.
- Prep and install. Flatten first, then set the floor with proper gaps and a planned stagger.
- Walkthrough. We check every transition and edge with you before we call it done.
What drives the price
- Product tier - wear layer thickness is where cost and lifespan actually live
- How flat your slab is: prep is honest work most low bids quietly skip
- Tear-out, especially old glued-down floors or tile
- Room count and transitions - open plans install faster than chopped-up spaces
Common questions
Is LVP really waterproof?
The planks are. The floor as a system is water-resistant: surface spills are no problem, but flooding can still get under any floating floor. For baths and laundry rooms we detail the perimeter accordingly.
What thickness or wear layer should I buy?
The wear layer (measured in mils) matters more than total thickness. For busy households and pets we generally point people to 20 mil; lighter-use rooms can go 12 mil. We will tell you when spending more stops buying you anything.
Can LVP go over my existing tile?
Sometimes, if the tile is flat, well-bonded and height works at doors and cabinets. We check rather than guess, because trapped problems become expensive later.
