Tile set straight, sealed and lasting.
Floors, showers and backsplashes with flat faces, even joints and the waterproofing you cannot see but will absolutely notice if it is missing.
Tile is unforgiving: lippage, hollow spots and cracked grout all trace back to what happened before the first tile was set. In wet areas, the waterproofing behind the tile matters more than the tile itself.
What is included
- Layout planned from the sight lines, so cuts land where you will not see them
- Proper substrate prep - backer board, decoupling membrane or slab flattening as needed
- Real waterproofing in showers and wet areas, flood-tested before tile goes on
- Full thinset coverage, checked - hollow tiles are a defect, not a quirk
- Level tile faces and consistent joints
- Quality grout and sealed transitions
How it works
- Plan the layout. We dry-plan the pattern and pick the starting lines that make the room look right.
- Prep the substrate. The right backer and waterproofing for the area, documented in the scope.
- Set and grout. Full coverage, tight joints, clean lines - the slow way, because it is the only way.
- Walkthrough. We check faces, joints and corners with you before we call it done.
What drives the price
- Tile size and pattern - large-format and herringbone take more prep and time
- Wet areas: showers add waterproofing, slope and niche work
- Substrate condition and any old tile tear-out
- Tile price itself varies widely; labor does not scale down for fragile or cheap-bodied tile
Common questions
What is behind the tile in a shower that matters so much?
A waterproofing system: pan, membrane and sealed corners. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own. If a bid does not name the waterproofing method, that is the corner being cut.
Why did my grout crack within a year?
Usually movement underneath: a flexing subfloor, missing decoupling layer, or joints that should have been silicone at changes of plane. We fix the cause, not just the cosmetic.
Can you tile over existing tile?
Occasionally, but height, bond and flatness have to check out. Most of the time honest tear-out gives a better, longer-lasting result.
